THE MAYAS 

The Mayas are today the biggest group of indigenous peoples in Mexico and form for example in the State of Yucatan the majority of the population with 59.2 percent, according to statistics of the Consejo Nacional de Población CONAPO and the PNUD from 2002.

"The Mayas? Aren't they already dead?" This was the comment of a German I once heard. By no means. It is true that the impressive sites of their ancestors receive generally more attention, but the Mayas are definitely alive as one can see in the following video with clips from five years of my work with the Mayas:
